I remember the days like they were yesterday. Tired, worn out, crying in the shower because I didn't have time to care for ME. I was a new mom with a full-time job that had me working long hours and traveling. I was falling apart, stressing about pumping milk for my son since he never latched on, I felt like a cow because I always had a milk machine hooked up to me. When would I ever be able to get back to my old routine of working out and filling my cup? Does this sound familiar?
Obviously, with a full-time job, a newborn, travel days, trying to keep the house picked up and dinners I didn't think it was possible! That was until I saw a friend of mine that was going through the same stuff but was able to fit time in for herself. Why couldn't that be me? I had to find a way to make it work. Enter in an accountability group. My coach said Girl you need to get your mind right! You can do this and I am going to help you! Join my group and I will provide you with the tools and daily accountability that you need and in 20-30 min a day you can get your workouts in.
I immediately fell in love with the community. The biggest thing that changed my life was personal development. Changing the can't into the I can. I had never been a big reader but now it became part of my everyday life. You can't make the change if your MIND is not in it. I preach personal development as I am living proof that it can help you through the hardest of times. My first program I lost 15 pounds, today I am 50 pounds lighter and have kept the weight off for over 3 years. That first accountability group had me hooked and that is why I have committed my life to help other women and men make the same lasting changes. This is not an overnight drop 50 pounds kind thing or a quick fix, this is a lifestyle change and it will last forever if your mind is right and you are ready to make the change.
I had no idea that this journey would help me through an ongoing infertility journey that has brought heartache through 6 failed IUI's and an ectopic pregnancy. Life over the past few years has not been easy for our family or me but I continue to show up for myself and my tribe. I am commited to showing others that you can still push forward through the hard times!
Here we are today, three months ago I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I had a weird feeling when I was doing a self-exam and that weird feeling led me to my first and last mammogram and breast cancer diagnosis. I think most people at this point would want to give up. But I am positive that we will get through this and I am committed to sharing my journey so others can too.
I have completed my initial double mastectomy surgery, one of three reconstructive surgeries and currently preparing for 30 radiation treatments. This has only made my mission more important to me.
